Had some fantastic League cup nights in the 80's over UP... Spurs and Coventry (81?) were magnificent.. superb game v Villa as well in which Big Dave Kelly looked half decent...

We were in the West Stand Lower that night for the Liverpool game. Normally would've been in the North Bank...

Remember the North Bank being absolutely rammed that night. One of my favourite memories of Upton Park

That Harvey Elliott is meant to be the next Messi the way people rave about him, seen him 4 or 5 times now and he looks crap, had a couple of awful dives in the last round (Salah probably runs a class in Liverpool)
He also seems to be a horrible little shit with a couple of bad videos online of him already and he has shite hair!

The Scouse cup game was one of my best nights in the North Bank, especially being right behind Ince's volley.

Yep Paul Ince was fantastic that night. Three scousers behind us in the old west upper who were stunned by what happened. we had a quality (but ageing) side that night and ince was the engine who brought everything together.

By the final whistle, there was a more sobering statistic. This was Liverpool's heaviest League Cup defeat, eclipsing a 4-1 loss to West Ham in 1988 and a 6-3 reverse by Arsenal in 2007.
From the BBC
Anyone remember that game?

If it wasn't for the Manny Omoyimni fuck up, we could have won it that year.
If you want to go through the pain again there's a good article on it here - https://www.theguardian.com/football/1999/dec/19/newsstory.sport.

The League Cup only bothers me because we've never won it.
Win it once, and forget it.

I've never been over bothered about the (put name here) cup. The FA Cup is the one I really want us to do well in and that we should be going out to win. All of that history that comes with it makes it a prestigious trophy still.
And bring back the European Cup Winners Cup. Straight knockout tournament, none of that group shit.

Really, Vexed?
I’d be absolutely delighted to see us smash any Liverpool team, and get to a semi final in the process. Sorry if I missing something here.

This brings back bad memories of our exit in the same round to an even more lackluster Arsenal than the one that beat us last week.
Thanks Moyes.

Did the usual traveling fans send their kids along in their stead?
They should've done, this fucking around is disrespectful to the fans. Big Sam PLUMMETED in my estimation after that Forest game.
